Core Technologies

back

Patent-pending AVC™ (Active Vehicle Control) technology uses a combination of sensors and software algorithms to automatically adjust steering and throttle output, faster than humanly possible, so you enjoy a more stable and controlled driving experience. The stability it provides can be adjusted to suit your preference and feels completely natural. There is no lag in response or limits on your control. With AVC active, you’ll feel like you’re driving a finely tuned vehicle, one that handles with precision at any speed and through every turn.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Is the AVC system integrated?

The entire system is integrated into the SRS 4200 4-channel DSMR™ receiver. No additional components are required.

  2. What needs to be done to setup or calibrate the AVC technology system?

The system comes fully calibrated out of the box for the Vaterra® Hälix™ or Losi® Ten Rally-X vehicles. Calibration is only required after a re-bind.

  3. Can you participate in sanctioned races with AVC technology?

No, most racing classes won’t allow any stabilization assistance of any kind. However, a blinky mode has been incorporated in the AVC receiver, this completely turns off AVC technology, visually showing race officials that the system has been disabled. Establishing blinky mode is as easy as inserting a bind plug in a dedicated port and binding your transmitter.

  4. What transmitters does AVC work with?

AVC will work with all Spektrum® surface transmitters, but the experience may change depending on the amount of channels your transmitter operates with. Two-channel transmitters (excluding the DX2E included with the Vaterra Hälix and Losi Ten Rally-X vehicles) will not allow for full adjustments to be made, so AVC technology will only be 50 percent active when used in this arrangement. With three-channel transmitters, both Heading Hold and Throttle Management are adjusted simultaneously. When paired with a four-channel transmitter you can adjust Throttle Management and Heading Hold independently.

  5. Can an AVC receiver be removed and used in another vehicle?

Yes, but it is not recommended. The SRS 4200 AVC system was specifically designed and optimized for the Vaterra Hälix and Losi Rally-X.

  6. Can the system be disabled?

Yes. The system is fully adjustable and can be disabled through your transmitter. On the DX2E included with the Vaterra Hälix and Losi Ten Rally-X vehicles, adjusting AVC sensitivity level is as easy as turning the steering rate knob clockwise to increase sensitivity or counterclockwise to decrease sensitivity. To fully disengage the system, the knob must be fully turned counterclockwise. For all other compatible Spektrum transmitters, adjustments vary based on the number of available channels and programming interface.

  7. Are non Spektrum transmitters compatible with AVC?

No. The SRS 4200 AVC receiver is only compatible with Spektrum transmitters. However, the level of adjustability varies by the transmitter used.
